Hibachi of Japan

My family and I have been coming here for years and have not had a bad experience. For the price, the food value is excellent. There is a sushi place across the street and while the atmosphere is nicer, it is expensive. The shrimp bowl, two sushi rolls and edamame appetizer (not pictured) was $34 (w/out tip). Dinner for two, hard to beat.

We have been coming here for years. Apparently at some point recently their hours changed closing after lunch between 3:30-4:30. We eat quickly, no problem. We were asked for our order as the menus were shoved in our faces. The rest of the experience was rush, rush, rush as the credit card receipt was being shoved our way to hurry so they could close out before we even stopped chewing. What a shame. We used to love this place but now incredibly rude. What changed in one month? As I googled to find the Google reviews I see all the failed health inspections so I guess we are not going to miss it. It’s a shame because we even picked up tons of sushi take out from their little make shift box during the pandemic.

Great food, great prices (>$10) Delicious sushi with each ingredient portioned well. Not too much seaweed. For those like me who don't eat a lot of sushi, they have a tempura chicken roll, which it can be hard to find chicken sushi! The hibachi bowls are served up hot and fresh without too much oil weighing it down. Veggies cooked perfectly and not too tender. There isn't a bad thing I can say about Hibachi of Japan. I eat there twice a week!

This is not our normal hibachi place but it was me and my fiancés anniversary and we are having some money troubles but he still wanted to take me somewhere. I got my food but had no silverware to eat it with and we had to call him over. He ignored us the entire time until we asked for the check and then started asking us if we wanted refills or anything. The other server was checking on his tables and actually doing stuff unlike our server. We didn’t leave a tip because again, money issues. As we are leaving, our server followed us and asked us to leave a tip. Now I get it, I do, but at the same time you cannot expect everyone to give you a tip, and you do not deserve my life’s story as to why we cannot tip you at this time. And for those who say if you don’t have money to tip, why go out, it was our anniversary and we wanted to do something. We didn’t choose an expensive place because of it.

Due to its location being next to Publix, this hibachi restaurant is definitely more convenient then the other down the road, but I would recommend driving a little further south. Service is very slow even when they are not that busy. They do give you a lot of food, but my steak and chicken hibachi was not only super salty but had a rubbery texture. Very hard to eat and unfortunately had to throw in the trash.

This is the rudest place I have ever visited. Everyone is rude. The food is not bad if you can handle the rude staff, including the manager/owner? who will yell at you. I called in an order and they said it would be 20 minutes. I arrived in 15 knowing I would have to wait but wanted to let them know I was there. The manager or owner yelled at me that she told me 20 minutes!
